The Ned rig catches fish when nothing else will, and this is the jighead we trust to fish it. It stands the bait up on the bottom and keeps the point ready for easy, reliable hook-ups.
A wide-gap 108° hook angle opens the bite instead of the usual straight-up 90°, and the high-carbon steel point is hand-ground to drive in fast. The polygonal lead head is high-pressure cast so it’s hard and stable, and it rocks the bait upright on the bottom. A thin bait keeper locks soft plastics in without tearing them.
Why it’s a daily driver
- 108° wide-gap angle — a more natural feeding angle with fewer missed fish.
- Sharp ground point — strong high-carbon steel for quick, deep penetration.
- Thin bait keeper — holds Ned worms and creatures without tearing.
- Polygon die-cast head — stands the bait upright on the bottom.
- Parallel hook gap — the point stays exposed for clean sets.
How to work it
- Ned rig thread on a stick worm or finesse bait, then drag and hop; the head stands it up.
- Shaky head fish a straight-tail worm and shake it around structure.
- Swim jig wind it steadily through the column with a soft trailer.
- Work rock piles, structure, dock pilings, weed edges, and black-pit ponds.
