A small-profile sinking pencil with a built-in rattle

The Rattle Sinking Pencil is one of our daily drivers for wary bass and mandarin fish. A compact half-stick profile houses two internal rattle beads that send out a low-frequency tick-tock tuned to the vibration fish feel — enough to punch through murky water and draw strikes out of weed beds.

How it moves

• Steady retrieve: a parallel flutter-sink with a wide, near-60° swing — it starts swimming the moment you wind.
• Pause for a split second: it switches to a vertical trembling fall, sinking slowly like a dying baitfish. That hang is when most bites happen.
• Cast: roughly 20% smaller than a standard sinking pencil, it cuts wind and launches far for its size; the slimmer tail improves hook-up.

Built to land the fish

Fitted with sharp PTFE-coated treble hooks on 3.5X reinforced wire for fast penetration and rust resistance. The paint's reflectivity and adhesion have been upgraded to hold up trip after trip.
